Seeing as the tethering distance setting does exist on A:SA (it just doesn't work at the moment), I doubt this was intended and believe they will fix it at some point. I'm assuming it will work the same way as it did on A:SE (so if you put the tethering range to 999, you can basically be as far away from each other as you want as it gives you ...Tethering distance is clamped so even if you have set it to 5k, internally it still can't go pass the maximum value. The tether is now set at 5 or 9, but somehow we can still separate and glide all over the map without triggering this minimal tether, so long as we don't change zones. It is almost as though the tether setting is no longer real. Change it to 99, unless you go into a cave or smth it shouldn't pull you.
