In my opinion the absolute best starter weapon is the saw cleaver. I started my first character with the axe, and just couldn't get into the moveset. After spending probably 5 hours stuck in yarhnam I made a new character with the cleaver and something just clicked. The cleaver has killer damage, hits quick, and has good reach when extended.Best level for this build is among 120-150. 150 is the highest point of this build, with both Skill and Bloodtinge at 50, 50 in Vitality, Endurance at 35 at least (but you can reach 40 just ignoring Arcane and Strength).
