Last November, the bike wouldn't start. A friend (Mercedes tech) and I diagnosed coils as the issue, no voltage at plug wires. I let it sit over the winter as Chicago winters can get darn cold.I always shut the Vulcan down in neutral due to the key being down on the clutch side. Seen to many guys use the kill switch to shut down and forget to turn the key to off and deplete the battery. The Sporty ignition is on the right side so now I have a way to shut down in gear and fear the lunge. 08 Classic FI 1500. 06 Sporty 1200.Tips to help get your motorcycle started if it's broken downOn a new vulcan 900: Got a white mark on outer edge of belt. It could possibly be the kickstand switch. To test this out, pull and hold clutch in when cold starting. If it does not quit, could be switch adjustment, switch itself or connections/wiring. The heat problem is the heat that is directed at the rider when in stop and go traffic and the fan comes on. I'm working on a Vulcan 800 that's been bobbed. The guy deleted the cluster, turn signals, yada yada yada, well now it has no spark. The wire harness is a used, but good condition stock one. The coils have been tested and are good, wires are good, plugs are good.
