So I've got a higher mileage Malibu and for the past 6 months ive noticed that if at idle for longer periods, the temp would move from quarter to a bit above half on the dash. And now my a/c don't work when it is getting warm. But I could usually turn on the heat and it would go back down really fast.

Hi. I got a 1997 malibu. Each time , i am driving and the ac is on, the car overheat. i have to switch off the ac and wind down the glass to let ion air. basically i can use the air condition without getting overheating. Even when i am nt using the AC but wind up, i still get overheating until I wind down.

Lots of jet black water and iron oxide stuff came out. I forced water into the engine while it was running by using my garden hose to force water into 3/4" hose.Overheating.
