This harness chaffing could cause shorting of any number of circuits to ground. Due to the number of circuits in the harness, there is a wide variety of different symptoms that could occur depending on which circuit(s) are damaged. Cause 3. This Cause pertains to vehicles equipped with engine 3.0L, LM2 only.
Dec 13, 2015 · P0090. Circuit/System Description. High pressure fuel is regulated by the fuel rail pressure (FRP) regulator mounted on the fuel injection pump. The FRP regulator is controlled by the engine control module (ECM). The FRP regulator has a solenoid supply voltage circuit and solenoid control circuit. I’m trying to help my buddy with a new-to-him LBZ. All good until suddenly both P0090 and P0045 and limp mode. Truck commands and goes full rail pressure on startup. I checked wires from FPR back to ecm and no breaks or knicks. Key on I’m seeing 2.63vdc at FPR. I backprobed at the ECM and found the same 2.63vdc. I read that …P0089 and P0090 FOUND IT!! The connector to the fuel rail regulator had a wire pushed out!!! The way it works is the computer LOWERS the fuel pressure. Jan 5, 2016 · DTC P0090 is a Type A DTC. The ECM commands the engine to operate in the Reduced Engine Power mode. The message center displays Reduced Engine Power. Conditions for Clearing the DTC. DTC P0090 is a Type A DTC. Diagnostic Aids. There are no driveability concerns associated with the FRP regulator unless a DTC is present.
EGR delete by my definition is complete removal of system components which is a highly invasive and unnecessary procedure. It also requires ECM programming to deal with the DTC’s associated with removal of the EGR motor. Essentially an EGR delete removes the EGR valve/motor assembly along with the EGR cooler etc.

I unlatched and pulled the two big wire harnesses and put a fuse in and the fuse didn't blow.
