Was having a blast with bg3 on the ps5. However I had a sudden power cut today, and since then the main loading screen before the main menu seems to be taking a lot longer than before. Almost 3-4 minutes. It gets stuck at 33% for a long time. Rest of the game is fine, and save file isn't corrupted.

skychbobber. • 6 mo. ago. I've tested on both SSD (NVME Gen4) and a 7200RPM HDD (toshiba gaming performance) and my average loading is: NVME Gen4 SSD: 14-15 seconds. 7200RPM HDD: 17-19 seconds. So it's about 24% longer for me on HDD vs SSD. I enabled the slow HDD mode and have a very strong computer with plenty of VRAM/RAM tho. It's not a GOG-specific issue; the problem was the hard drive being overwhelmed by lots of requests, forcing BG3 to wait. Assuming Windows, use Task Manager to check if the drive is hitting 100%. If so, you can use Disk Activity in the Resource Monitor to identify which applications are contributing.Long load times are normally based on the hard drive. Check what model you have. If it is in fact a hard drive, I highly recommend you get a solid state drive. Thats the single biggest increase you can achieve, and fairly cheap. Mind you since you're on a laptop you probably need to replace your existing drive.Ideally, with all modern games should be loaded onto an m.2 or SATA SSD as the older spinning disc Hard Drives will take a long time to load games.
