The answer Linus gave was awful and extremely anti-consumer. His claim to not burden his family, is him protecting himself at a detriment to the customer. There is no way to frame this in a way that isn't a net negative to the consumer, and a net positive to his business. He's basically just said to customers "trust me bro". I'm just a consumer with no intimate knowledge of components but Gamer's Nexus presented overwhelmingly detailed and technical knowledge of a concerning safety issue and Gigabyte responded in a very inappropriate and out of touch manner. It is clearly a political and non-technical statement meant to minimize damage; red flag.Gamers Nexus released a weekly news video, as scheduled, on the 15th of August, but added a segment around Linus’ response to Gamers Nexus’ video and the situation as a whole.
