Horizon Walkers are largely unchanged. I would still either play a midranged sharpshooting longbow build that teleports effortlessly out of melee range, or a skirmishing GWM melee Bamfing build. The Class Feature Variants makes Ranger into a playable, useful class. The Oath of the Watchers is a Paladin subclass designed specifically for this kind of campaign. I would not play a Ranger to high levels (where Horizon Walker gets its major features) without CFV.
