It’s the exact same. Amiibos are just figures with a NFC chip inside (at the bottom). Amiibo spoofing is just using the same NFC chips that amiibos use by themselves. The switch doesn't check for authenticity and they aren't complicated code …
You can use joycon droid unless the game requires you to write your amiibo, then you need to use an nfc tag. Actually the only thing i can think of when using your phone as an amiibo is the joycon droid. Ill find a the how to video for you. What kind of phone do you have?

From what I've found is you can spoof a scan if there's a scanner connected otherwise it won't do anything. So I think you'd have to trick the system into thinking there's a reader connected, then spoof it.
