I believe the LTA 50 only has the one speed restictor. It is a washer that restricts exhaust. I know the LT 80 has both the washer as well as a carb restrictor. Once the cltuch nut is off, remove the front cover and sheave together. remove the spacer. reinstall the front sheave and the nut. Definatly do it. with the spacer in it'll do a whoopping 14 mph. with the spacer out, it'll do ~32 but you can easily cut that back with the throttle. it's much easier to ride without overrevving the crap out of it.

The bike came with a FMF 4.1 pipe, and wasn't tuned ran good for some time than it wouldn't start (lean). I got it tuned and the light kept reoccuring afterward, usually kicking in at about 45 minutes. That problem fazed away and the bike was good until 2009. Here is a list of what I've down so far to try to solve the problem: ~Checked Timing. ~Valves are good. ~Compression is good. ~Timing is good. ~ Put in new starter clutch (had metal shaving particles) ~New coil, cap and spark plug. I'm not sure what the problem may be.
