Kawasaki prairie 400 problems.
I would suggest putting in the oil return into the rear cylinder like a lot of people have. But you might be able to get away with just plugging the hole in the airbox that the crank vent goes to.. And extending the vent line. With the longer line, there might not be enough pressure to push it that far.

Put some carb cleaner. Also check the belt and his deflection and clean all this system with compressed air. Clean well the oil cooler rad. This middle engine has a very good torque but not much speed, i like it very much, no problems at all before 1 year of use. You can find a service manual here:
if you a volt meter check the power of the battery,it should be about 12volts. with it not running.but if it is 9.5 v to lower replace the battery. now if its running the voltage should only be about 13-14 volts.any higher then the voltage regulater is prolly faulty and in need of replacemet. oh yeah and get some new bulbs for the lights after ...

Could a bad decompressor be causing the problem? (The spring is not broken but the groove on the shaft is a bit wallowed by the pin on the decompressor). It would act as if not getting fuel like a vapor lock. AFter a while it would start back up. I had been told once by a ute racer that the check valve/tank breather that comes out of the tank and is in line on the right side rear would do that. I by passed it with an in-line filter and had no problems.
