FYI - If you use a Harken 150 or Schaffer 70-17 you will need at least 2.25" hardware to mount through a Hawk Helium stick. I measured and figured I had about 1/4" of threads with a 2" bolt but it didn't work out that way. Barely had enough to thread on the nuts so I have to go back for some 2.25" or 2.5" hardware.Helium sticks are listed at 2.8lbs, then Dave removed the belt/buckle/bracket, a portion of the main stick, 2 steps and related hardware. He added a Versa button and amsteel rope which has a crazy strength to weight ratio. He added a single step using 1" tubular webbing and thin wall plastic tubing as well.

Hawk Helium Stick Mods. Thought I'd share the modifications I made to my climbing sticks. Having to deal with metal to metal noises I put 2 coats of Hercules bed liner (Lowes) then painted. The bed liner ruberized the pieces. After painting with primer gray I used the sponge method to finalize the color scheme.
