I'm playing through Operation Motherlands, trying to max out optical camo before playing through the rest of Operation Greenstone. I've cleaned out the Lava Duct and Lava Shield, and killed the behemoth. There is a building with 3 doors just to the east of the behemoth area with 3 crates in it, I think they're all optical camo.

Yeah the base Opti camo is kinda useless, I’d try and upgrade it to at least level 1-2 as quickly as possible. The upgrades aren't just about making it last longer or recharge faster. They also allow you to do more things while using it. For example the base when you first get it, you can't sprint or it will shut off. Behemoth defense areas giving 1000 optical camo points.
