Limp mode chrysler 300.
P2181 indicates that your Chrysler 300 has an observed cooling system temperature that is too high or too low. It will come up in the scan tool as “Cooling System Performance”. The trouble with P2181 is that by itself, it’s not narrowing much down. There could be a problem with your 300’s cooling system, temperature sensor, or even the ECU.

If you, or the guy you sold the 300C to, do a search for water in the tranny, you (singular or plural) will find it was a prevalent problem. Seems condensation runoff from the A/C would run down the tranny dipstick tube (or something) and get into the tranny! Believe or else.

The problem was with the HHP tune used on the Trans. The computer misinterpreted the stall converter's actions and thought that the converter was slipping so it went into limp mode to protect itself. 1 Answer. Limp mode only fires every other cylinder when a fault is detected to save the motor ,,don't run it in limp mode or on the freeway. Many times on Chrysler products, one or both of the speed sensors screwed into the front of the transmission will fail, and cause the tcm to go to limp mode. Also make sure you have power to the tcm.
